Ranthambore Tiger Safari

Package ID: TG-CITY-001894

Jaipur · Ranthambore — The most accessible tiger reserve in India — and one where the tigers, used to safari vehicles and often active by day, are seen more readily than almost anywhere, though never guaranteed. Set around a spectacular thousand-year-old fort and lakes, Ranthambore pairs perfectly with the Golden Triangle as a wild finish. We build in multiple safaris to stack the odds honestly, and are clear that the ruined fort, the birds, the crocodiles and the sheer beauty of the park reward the trip whatever the tigers do. An easy hop from Jaipur.

An easy transfer from Jaipur — by road or the comfortable train to Sawai Madhopur — to the edge of Ranthambore. A full safari day — morning and afternoon drives into different zones, which is the honest way to improve your chances of a tiger and to see the park's variety: sambar and spotted deer at the lakes, marsh crocodiles, langur, and superb birdlife around the ruins. Ranthambore's tigers are relatively habituated, so daytime sightings, while never guaranteed, are among the more likely in India.

Good to know

Important information

  • Tiger sightings are never guaranteed, but Ranthambore offers among the more reliable daytime chances in India. Multiple safaris across zones maximise the odds.
  • Safari permits, zones and vehicle type (shared gypsy/canter or private gypsy) are limited and booked well in advance; zone allocation is subject to availability.
  • The park closes during the monsoon (roughly July–September); the season runs October–June, with the hot pre-monsoon months often best for sightings.
  • Mornings are cold in winter for open-vehicle safaris — carry warm layers; carry a government photo ID for permits.
  • Ranthambore pairs naturally with the Golden Triangle — ask us to combine them.

Questions

Package FAQs

What are our chances of seeing a tiger?

Among the best in India for a daytime sighting — Ranthambore's tigers are relatively used to vehicles — but still never guaranteed. Two or three safaris across different zones is the honest way to maximise the chance, which is why the trip includes several.

Gypsy or canter safari?

A gypsy (6-seat open jeep) is more flexible and intimate; a canter (20-seat) is cheaper and still effective. Both are shared unless you book a private gypsy, which we can arrange for the best experience.

Can we add this to the Golden Triangle?

Absolutely — it is the classic wild add-on after Jaipur, needing just two extra nights. We'll combine them into one seamless itinerary.

When is the best time?

October–June, with April–June often best as animals gather at water (though hot). The park closes in the monsoon. We'll match your dates to your priorities.
