When to go
September to March is the most comfortable, and the backwaters are at their best; the monsoon (June to August) is green and also the season for Ayurveda retreats. We plan the routing and houseboat around your dates.
Good to know: premium houseboats and backwater resorts fill fast in peak season and around Onam — early booking gets you the better boats and rates.
