Kanha & Bandhavgarh Tiger Safari

Package ID: TG-IN-001269

Bandhavgarh · Kanha — The two finest tiger reserves in central India, paired for the best possible chance of a wild tiger — Bandhavgarh, which has one of the highest tiger densities anywhere, and Kanha, the vast sal-forest park that inspired The Jungle Book. Multiple safaris across both reserves genuinely stack the odds in your favour, but we say plainly what every honest operator must: no sighting is ever guaranteed, and the forest, the birds and the sheer thrill of the search reward you regardless. Safari permits and zones are limited and booked well ahead.

Into the sal forests of Bandhavgarh, the compact reserve famous for the best tiger-sighting odds in India. An afternoon to settle into the lodge and meet your naturalist before the early starts begin. The park's old fort and its density of big cats make it the ideal place to open a safari trip.

Good to know

Important information

  • Tiger sightings are never guaranteed anywhere — Bandhavgarh offers among the best odds in India, but it remains a wild forest. Multiple safaris across zones and both parks maximise the chance.
  • Safari permits and zones are limited and booked well in advance; the assigned zone is subject to availability and park rules.
  • The parks close during the monsoon (roughly July–September, some zones from June); the reliable season is October–June, with the hot pre-monsoon months best for sightings near water.
  • Buffer-zone safaris may run on days when core zones are closed; carry a government photo ID for permits.
  • The Bandhavgarh–Kanha transfer is a long driving day — stated honestly and broken with a stop.

Questions

Package FAQs

What are our real chances of seeing a tiger?

Good across a multi-safari trip in these two parks — Bandhavgarh especially has high density — but never certain. We are honest that it is wildlife, not a zoo. More drives across more zones is the single best way to improve the odds, which is why the itinerary includes several.

How many safaris are included?

Multiple across both parks (typically morning and afternoon drives on full days). We can add more or upgrade to a private safari vehicle on request.

When is the best time for sightings?

October–June, with the hot April–June months often best as animals gather at water. The parks close in the monsoon. We'll match your dates to your priorities.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes, for kids who can manage early starts and sitting still on drives. The forest and animals thrill most children; we choose family-friendly lodges and can adjust the safari count.
