Khajjiar is a saucer-shaped emerald meadow ringed by dense deodar forest, with a small lake at its centre and the Dhauladhar peaks beyond — a landscape so alpine it is nicknamed the "mini Switzerland of India". A short drive from Dalhousie, it is a favourite for gentle walks, horse rides and paragliding.
