Water-sports and boat trips are seasonal and sea-dependent, and we say so rather than promising surf that the tide won't deliver.

The optional evening Mandovi river cruise is a gentle, touristy-but-fun way to end the day. Water-sports at the beaches run when the sea allows; we won't pretend otherwise.

The heritage heart of the state on the way south. Old Goa's great churches — the Basilica of Bom Jesus, holding St Francis Xavier's relics, and the vast Se Cathedral — are UNESCO-listed and genuinely moving. Panjim's Fontainhas quarter, all ochre-and-blue Portuguese houses, is the prettiest urban walk in Goa. Then on to the calmer south for the last two nights.

Day 4 South Goa at leisurePalolem / Cavelossim

The south is for doing very little, which is the point. A free morning on the wide, quiet Cavelossim/Benaulim sands; optionally a run down to the crescent of Palolem and the clifftop Cabo de Rama fort, or inland to a spice plantation for a traditional Goan lunch. The evening is seafood on the beach as the light fades — the trip's gentle finish.

Is four nights enough for Goa?
For a first taste of both coasts plus the heritage, yes. Add a night or two if you want pure beach downtime — Goa is one place where doing less is the point.
Should we stay north or south?
Both, which is why we split it. North for markets, nightlife and buzz; south for wide, quiet sand. Two nights each gives you the contrast without constant moving.
Is Goa good for families with kids?
Yes — the calmer south beaches especially. We pick family-friendly resorts, keep drives short, and can skip the late-night north scene entirely.
When should we avoid?
Peak monsoon (June–September) sees heavy rain and many beach shacks and water-sports closed. It is green and cheap, but for reliable beach weather aim for November–March.
Can you include a Dudhsagar or dolphin trip?
Yes, seasonally. Dudhsagar Falls is spectacular just after the monsoon; dolphin boat trips run in fair weather. We add them where the season and sea genuinely support it.
