Andaman Islands

Package ID: TG-IN-001004

Port Blair · Havelock · Neil — The Andamans done the sensible way — a day in Port Blair for the sobering colonial history at the Cellular Jail, then the ferry out to Havelock for Radhanagar, one of Asia's finest beaches, and Neil for its quieter coves. The one thing nobody tells you is the ferry: seats are limited and sell out well ahead, and the sea can reshuffle a sailing, so we plan around it honestly rather than promise a timetable the Bay of Bengal won't always keep. Snorkelling and scuba are the real draw here, and both are genuinely season- and weather-dependent.

Day by day

Complete itinerary

Tap any day to expand. Drive distances and times are realistic approximations, stated up front and traffic-dependent — never hidden.

Day 1 Arrive Port BlairAirport → Cellular Jail
  1. Private transfer & hotel check-in
  2. Cellular Jail — the colonial-era prison & museum
  3. Light-and-sound show at the jail (evenings)
  4. Overnight in Port Blair

The islands open on a serious note. The Cellular Jail, where the British held India's freedom fighters in solitary cells, is moving and essential context before the beaches — the evening light-and-sound show tells its story well. A gentle first day after the flight, with the ferry logistics for tomorrow already booked and confirmed.

✓ Cellular Jail✓ Light & sound show

  1. Transfer to jetty & ferry to Havelock
  2. Check-in & leisure
  3. Radhanagar (Beach No. 7) for sunset

Out to Havelock on the morning ferry — the crossing is part of the trip. The afternoon is Radhanagar, regularly rated among Asia's best beaches, timed for the sunset rather than the midday glare. Ferries between the islands run to fixed, limited sailings that we book well ahead; we're upfront that the schedule is the sea's to keep.

✓ Cruise ferry✓ Radhanagar sunset

🛏 Overnight: Havelock

Day 3 Havelock — reefs & beachesElephant Beach
  1. Boat to Elephant Beach — snorkelling over the reef
  2. Optional intro scuba dive (season & conditions permitting)
  3. Kalapathar beach & leisure

A full island day built around the water. Elephant Beach's shallow reef is the easy snorkelling spot; a beginner scuba dive is the step up for those who want it, entirely subject to sea conditions and the season — we won't promise clear water the weather isn't giving. The quiet black rocks of Kalapathar close the day.

Alternative
Fixed sailings — booked ahead
  1. Ferry to Neil Island
  2. Natural Bridge (Howrah Bridge) at low tide
  3. Laxmanpur beach sunset

Neil is the slower, greener island — paddy fields and quiet coves. The natural coral bridge is best at low tide, which we time for; Laxmanpur is the sunset beach. Smaller and gentler than Havelock, it is the right note to wind down on.

  2. Corbyn's Cove or the Samudrika naval museum
  3. Chidiya Tapu — the "sunset point" of the islands

Back to Port Blair with the afternoon free. Chidiya Tapu, at the island's southern tip, is the classic Andaman sunset — mangroves, birds and the sea going gold. A relaxed last full day before the morning flight.

✓ Corbyn's Cove✓ Chidiya Tapu sunset

  2. Optional quick Ross Island (Netaji Subhas) visit if your flight is late

An easy final morning. If your flight is later, a short boat to Ross Island — the old British administrative headquarters, now atmospheric ruins reclaimed by the jungle — is a fine last stop before the airport.

Good to know

Important information

  • Inter-island ferries run to fixed, limited sailings and sell out well ahead — we book them early, and rough seas can occasionally reshuffle a sailing.
  • Snorkelling and scuba are season- and sea-dependent; we set honest expectations rather than promising visibility the weather won't give.
  • Mobile network and internet are patchy on Havelock and Neil — plan for limited connectivity.
  • October–May is the reliable window; the monsoon (Jun–Sep) sees rough crossings and closures.
  • Carry a government photo ID; some areas near tribal reserves are restricted and are not part of tourist itineraries.

Questions

Package FAQs

How reliable are the island ferries?

They run to fixed daily sailings with limited seats, so we book them well in advance. In good weather they are dependable; in rough seas a sailing can shift, which is why we build a little flexibility in rather than promising exact times.

Is it good for a honeymoon?

Very — Havelock and Neil are genuinely romantic, and the pace is unhurried. We pick beach-side resorts and keep the moving to two comfortable ferry days.

Can non-swimmers still enjoy the water?

Yes. Elephant Beach snorkelling is in shallow, guided water with life jackets, and glass-bottom boats show the reef without getting in. Intro scuba is fully supervised for first-timers.

When should we avoid travelling?

The monsoon (June–September) brings rough crossings and frequent closures. October–May is the settled season, with the clearest water around December–April.

Are flights included?

No — flights to Port Blair are booked separately so you can use your own dates and airline. We can add them to the quote on request.
